Hi Brian,

Before I go any further I should correct my sweeping statement in my post
and say that I was unable to find a commercial body that provided a
craze-free fusion - but you have found one and that's great!!

It is really good to hear from someone who is working in the same area and
I'd be very interested to hear more about your work. I am researching
thermal expansion as part of my postgrad studies.

My work differs slightly in that I mix my own clay body and I don't use a
glaze.
I have tested Bullseye (with some promising results) but I have found an
alternative which provides a craze-free/crack-free fusion. My first tests
have remaind uncrazed/uncracked for six months so it is very promising -
but my clay body needs refining and I am steadily increasing the size of
the test pieces - there is still MUCH work to be done.

Have you ever considered experimenting with glazes for glass?
I look forward to hearing more about your work,

regards

Marcie
