Help I have a customer who has an old "Butler's Sink",
which he wants reglazed. Could a simple white
earthernware glaze do the trick? It is quite scratched and
pitted. The only way I could fit it into my kiln is on its side.
Could I glaze that side and let it stand on star stilts?

Ralph,
I wouldn't even consider firing an old sink in my kiln. Not one that
has been in use and has had water in it. It would be very likely to
blow up and blow up hard.

Hi Ralph and all,
I think it was at a home show that I saw a professional outfit that
refinishes old sinks. I second Paul's remark, wouldn't have it in my kiln
either. And as for the stilts anything that heavy will collapse the
stilts. It seems to me this is one of those situations where you have to
sadly decline the job. Anyway there is a way for the customer to do it
right, and remember, it is not your responsibility to research it...
Cheers, E.....oh, BTW, it was here on clayart I do believe that the issue
of toilet plungers with holes was put forward....
