I have just become aware of some Clay Art discussion about my company,
Axner Pottery Supply. Apparently there was some reference to the speed at
which we fill our orders. Prior to two years ago we had a slow turn-around
time all too often. For more than the past year, we have shipped 90% of
our stock orders in 24 hours and 99% in 48 hours. We are committed to
maintaining our current turn-around time. This week only, is an exception
because we are in the process of moving to a new and larger location from
which we will be able to better serve the needs of the pottery community.
It should be noted that we sell some none stock items, such as some
equipment, which are drop-shipped from the factories direct to our
customers. Our 24 hour to 48 hour turn-around time frequently does not
apply to these drop-ship items.
Also with relation to our turn-around time... Eighty-five percent of our
orders now go out complete. This too is an improvement from the past, and
we feel that it is a reasonably good number with relation to the number of
products that we stock (over 3,000 different inventory parts). Still, we
are taking specific steps to reduce our current number of back-orders. The
increased space in our new facility will be one contributing factor in
achieving that goal.
Excellent customer service is of vital importance to me. I welcome any
suggestions in this regard.
With warm regards to Clay Art subscribers... Howard Axner
