just made a wonderful yellow, gold over glaze stain
down in south carolina...just what you are looking
for. i always add oxide to a cup of base glaze..carefully
adjust amount of oxide to taste. keep track of amount
and brush directly on pot over the base. if you get too
much oxide (rutile) it will become metallic. (kinda baby pooh)
i also use the same technique with my cone 10 glazes.
1 cup of base glaze with a mix of rutile and iron...
it takes some time to get the
amount of metal oxide correct, but once you have it...nice.
