I'll be going to Salt Lake City from 20 June to the 26th.
Anyone know of any good galleries/potter's studios, art museume, etc. to visit?

Thanks, Jeanette Harris

>For ceramics and pottery - Stone Age Crafts
also Salt Lake Art Center downtown
and Red Kiln Connection 1700 S. and 400 E.
and Utah Museum of Natural History at U of Utah
and Utah Museum of Fine Arts --- U o Utah
There are many commercial galleries in town as well. Also visit
Pioneer Park for historical craft demonstrations and examples of pioneer
pottery and various other items. I'll probably think of some more over the
next few days.

I don't usually get to see more of SLC than the airport, but there is
some relatively local pottery worth looking at in one of the airport
giftshops, of all places. Also some technically very well constructed
Fimo millefoille (sp?) jewelry. I think it is between concourses B
and C but don't quote me on that.

Speaking of ceramics in airports, San Antonio Texas has a shop with
interesting pieces IMO. Any others? How about any must see tiles or
instalations if you are passing through?

you must be kidding.
Culture and Salt Lake City are oxymorons.

Needless to say there are potters even out here.
Come up to Logan sometime (1.5 hours north towards Jackson WY) and come
see USU and the Eccles Museum which has a decent ceramics collection.

Good luck in SLC.
