santa barbara & stuff

can anyone kindly tell me of any studios / galleries to visit while in Santa
Barbara, CA? preferrably with thrown, or sculpted pieces?

also, as a potter, i throw relatively nice pots. however, i don't have any
skill at decorating my pots. I try to display the beauty of my pots through
their shaoe first, then through glazing. I am aspiring to sell my work in
the future, and would like to know if one can truly be successful without
the abilities to make handles, carvings and such as additional visual aides
to pots.

thanks for your input.

If you can get to a bookstore you'll find about 500 gallery and museum
listings for craft exhibitions in each issue of AmericanStyle Magazine.
There are few gallery listings for Santa Barbara... but you might find some
good spots to visit an hour out of town. Good Luck!

Ron,
No one is born with skills- just potential.Much can be learned just by
getting a good decorating book and there are many and practice, practice
practice.Videos are also available.Do NOT LET YOUR EARLY ATTEMPTS DISCOURAGE
YOU. We all started from not knowing and had to learn.look at all the stuff
you can in shows, museums, magazines and books and find out what appeals to
you and try that sort of thing. Then AS you see happy accidents happen it will
lead you to invent your own look
