This message is primarily for potters residing in North Carolina and
surrounding states.

This weekend (April 20 &21) over 50 potteries in the Seagrove area will be
celebrating spring with an (almost) community wide kiln opening. Many of us will
have studio tours- free food- & door prizes. This is the 3rd. annual spring kiln
opening & the weather people have promised us good weather. Unlike the pottery
festival in Nov. this event takes place in the individual participating shops.

For those of you that have never been to Seagrove- it is located in the
geographic center of North Carolina- 1hr. south of Greensboro- 1hr.east of
Charlotte- & 1 1/2 hrs. west of the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area. Seagrove
is now home to almost 80 potteries- some of which are owned by 7th. & 8th
generation potters. Although the majority of potters continue to make work based
on the traditions of the area- there are quite a few of us that make
contemporary pots.

In conjunction with the kiln opening- our studio is having a special show of
work by Richard Aerni- Loren Lukens- Hank Goodman- Don Davis- & Charlie Riggs.
Also- Charlie will be hosting a raku firing demonstration.

To all that can make it this weekend- be sure & introduce yourselves as fellow
"clayarters".
