Does anyone out there know a good way to seal a glazed hand-built
earthenware bowl?
I am using this bowl as a base for a fountain. The crackle in the glaze
allows a small amount of water to pass through. The bowl is sweating and
not evaporating on contact with the table.

Have you considered firing a clear glaze over your crackle glaze or using
a water sealant like Thompson's? I haven't tried either, but both of
those were suggested to me when I was asking about using crackle glaze for
an earthenware sink. Jeni Stern

beater waterprofing sealent". It is like Thompsons water sealer but
cheaper. And I've tryed it on bowls used for fountains and it really
works!
