Check out the University of Washington, they might have something up and in
any case their clay department now has Akio Takemori and Doug Jeck...

There is a LOT of clay in Seattle.

Hodaka,

Go to the fireworks gallery, and the Seattle art museum. Both are in
downtown, easy to walk to from all the other waterfront/tourist type things.
Have a great time.

In Seattle try Pottery Northwest, Seattle Clay Studio, Seattle Pottery
Supply, and Foster White Gallery. All of them could prove very
interesting.

When visiting Seattle, two places to put at the top of your list are
Pottery Northwest and the Northwest Craft Center Gallery. The NCCG is on
the grounds of the Seattle Center, the site of the 1960's era "worlds
fair" and Pottery Northwest is just a couple of blocks away. When you
leave the Seattle Center grounds it is at the Southwest corner. Both the
Thursday Seattle Times newspaper and the Friday Seattle Post-Intelligencer
newspaper have a section given over to arts, foods, and entertainment
including galleries.

Hi,
there are unfortunately no specific clay galleries in Seattle. First I would
go downtown and pick up an "Art Access" brochure. It describes most of the
galleries and the shows they have for the month. Foster White gallery often
has ceramic pieces. They have a gallery in Pioneer Square (downtown) and
Kirkland (north east side of Lake Washington). Fireworks in Westlake Mall
has some ceramic pieces (downtown). The Northwest Craft Center at Seattle
Center has all ceramics and showcases a specific person each month - I guess
that is the best place to see many different kinds of pottery.
If you have any specific kinds of pottery let me know and I'll see if I can
locate it.
Have a good time

I'm sure all of the good places have already been listed, so I'll
plug mine! If you can swing it, Snohomish is only 30 or so
miles North of Seattle. Come on up.

Take I-5 North until Everett. Take Highway 2 East and follow it
around to Snohomish. I'm down on 1st street by the River's Edge
Cafe. I'm closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

I also have some of Logan Johnson's work.

Seattle Pottery Supply can be an interesting stop. It is on the South side in an industrial district. You might also want to visit the art gallery's just a block or so East of the Sound fish Market, which is a kick in its own.

Have a great visit, Dick

I would not miss the Northwest Craft Center in Seattle Center (about 4
minutes from Pottery Northwest) it has one of the most extensive
collections of pots on sale in the Northwest. I believe the Washington
Potter's Association exhibit will be open for about a month. There
are many nurseries that carry conifers I suggest using dexonline.com to
find nurseries and perhaps some of them will have websites or email.

Going to Seattle for business next week, would like to visit galleries or
studios with ceramic exhibitions, does anyone have any reccomendations?

I would also stop in at Pottery Northwest on the south west corner of the
Seattle Center property. You will find a potter working in the window I
think on First Ave, as I recall.

I think there is a clay show at Azuma Gallery on First ave near Pioneer
Square and the Kobo at Higo on Jackson in the International District may
have some clay showing, too.
