Hello! My name is Amber Geiger. I am living in Japan and will be moving back
to the United States in September. I am looking for an apprenticeship with a
tile artist either in the San Francisco or NYC areas.

I became interested in ceramics while studying Japanese art history at New
York University. It wasn't until I came to Sapporo, Japan that I started
practicing pottery. Through the book, The Artist's Way, I rediscovered my
long time interest in architecture and came up with tiles as a medium which
integrates my love of working with clay, painting, and design.

I am quite a beginner, stumbling, experimenting, and making a lot of ugly
tiles, however, they are getting better! Thank goodness. What I know about
tile making has come through books, Tiles On The Web homepage, Clayart mailing
list, and my imagination. I am at a point now where I would like to learn
hands on from an experienced tile artist.

After teaching English in Japan for a year and working my way through school
as an administrative assistant, I have come to the conclusion that what I
choose for a job, should be something that is creative, spiritual, and adds
joy to my life.

I look forward to hearing from you.
