Hello all,
I was in Copenhagen last month and ran across a gallery
downtown (The Strandgarde Gallery) by the docks.
They were featuring a number of pieces that were like
a semi-transparent white porcelain. Beautiful vessels with
a dark slip applied to accent the colors.
Now for my question, What would be a good claybody to throw
to obtain a semi-transparent vessel? I'm limited to firing only
up to cone 8.
Now off on a tangent......
While I was in copenhagen I met a wonderful artist
who specializes in Very large, very tall slim pitchers and a wide
range of glass art. Her name is Lisbet Daehlin. She is orginally from
Denmark (born 1922) and has had a vast experience in the arts
displaying art as far back as 1950 in the Galleri Per in Oslo.
She explained that she has works currently displayed in G-floten Oslo,
Epcot-Center in Florida and N.A.V.F. in Oslo. She was very helpful
in pointing me in the direction of the Strandgarde Gallery. I told her that
I would mention her on the NET. She was a very intresting person
and if your ever in copenhagen I'd encourage you to look her up.
Well enough ranting....
Thanks in advance,
JB
