Hello Everyone, particularly those near Toronto.
Sheherezade Alam is currently organizing her classes for this fall. She is
offering an Introduction to Pottery class beginning Friday, Sept. 5, 6:30
to 9:30 pm, running for 8 weeks. The classes will be held in the studio of
the Arcadia artists' cooperative building on Toronto's waterfront. There
are still some places left for new students. The classes are a mixture of
new and returning students, including me, for example, so instruction is
offered at a variety of levels.
Sheherezade is also offering a daytime class, for the first time, at 10am
through 1pm on Wdnesdays. This will likely be all newcomers.

For those of you who do not know Sheherezade, she is a warm and wonderful
person who has for many years made pots for show and use. She was born in
Pakistan, where she had her early training. Later she went to England,
where she studied with masters of the craft tradition. Now we are
fortunate to have her with us in Toronto. Her pots are... beautiful.
Elegant, graceful, full of symmetry and heart.
I know that most of you who will read this are beyond the stage of these
