Linda Sikora is a Canadian born potter who studied ceramics in British
Columbia, Nova Scotia and Minnesota. After her formal education Linda
worked full-time in her Minnesota studio intermittedly taught in
Universities and Art and Craft schools including Penland, Arrowmont and
Emily Carr Institute in Vancouver. Linda actively exhibits her functional
work both nationally and internationally. She is an Assistant Professor at
the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Matthew Metz is a full time studio potter from Houston, Minnesota and a
newcomer to Colorado. He received his MFA from Edinboro University of
Pennsylvania. He was awarded a National Endowment Crafts Fellowship in
1990 while a resident at the Archie Bray Foundation. Matthew makes carved
and decorated functional pots which include stacked vase forms, teapots,
thrown and constructed ewers, plates and serving dishes from porcelain.
TWO DAY LECTURE WORKSHOP DEMONSTRATION:

Linda Sikora: Throwing and assembling forms from thrown parts. cruet trays
and tea pots. Glaze demonstration with resist decoration
Matthew Metz: Throwing, altering and stacking composite forms. Drawing
and carving leather hard work, scrafitto on bone-dry porcelain through a
fine terra sig. black slip.
