There have been good ideas about how to repair the roller on this bailey
slabroller, but what about the drive board? The back is coated with what
looks like a hard tar surface. I have asked at a hardware store about the
stuff painted on the back of the drive board, but no one is sure what that
might be. Any ideas out there in clayland? It has to be something that
cures hard enough not to get into the grit of the bottom roller and clog it
up. Someone suggested that cabinet makers might use something similar (the
driveboard mechanism) in their shops and to find one who will tell me how
they resurface their equipment If you dont know what I am talking about:
The drive board is supposed to be somehow magically pulled through the
slabroller rollers with the bottoms rollers gritty stuff in combination
with the coating on the back of the drive board. Is this true, or am i
supposed to push it through, and this is just a lot more work than i
expected? Oh, and the guy at Bailey told me that the grit on the roller was
supposed to like a 60 grit sand paper. Its the stuff on the back of the
driveboard that i am seeking now. TIA, Karen
