Dear Jonathan,
I agree with you that Bailey slab rollers AND extruders are tops and the
company is good to deal with. I think Northstar people are great to
deal with. I also don't like the plastic gears on Northstar slab
rollers, BUT that is because the SCULTURE prof brought his students into
the Ceramics Lab to try and roll WAX! The sound of sprockets breaking
chilled the classroom. Talk about abuse!!!
Hey, the Northstar folks are great, and replaced the gears for free.
I've had a personal Bailey 20"slab roller and extruder for a long time.
I also have a custom built slab roller, chain driven designed by some
retired German mechanic, which works for me, but will never leave my
studio because we had to disassemble the door and the door frame to get
it into the building!
I like your summation about equipment applicable (what a word)
to the user. BUT it is true. If it works, great. If it doesn't, keep
trying.
