I am making some knobs and remember a while back some information on
screws and inserts, or hardware for knobs.
My local hardware store has nothing like it..If out there in clay wor4ld,
someones could give me a title or source for these I'd appreciate it.

Hello Elca,
Amazing... I saw your post regarding knobs. I was considering posting the
newsgroup for help with a similar problem. I am trying to find some bisqued
or clear glazed white porcelain knobs (drawer pulls) that are WITHOUT the
inserts already set (glued) inside the recessed hole. I would very much like
to decorate with overglazes or underglazes some of these knobs and fire them
myself, ultimately, installing them on our newly painted kitchen cabinets.
Unfortunately, what I'm finding in stores like Home Depot & Home Base are
ones with the inserts already glued in place.
I too would very much like to find a source where I could buy them and glue
in the inserts and add the screws later, after I'm done firing them. Would
you please copy me on any responses or resources that become available?
Thanks in advance for all of your help! :-)

Ken I don't know if this will help or not, I somehow got on a catalog
mailing list that caters to renovation of old homes. Nothing in their
catalog, but the may have sources they will give you. RENOVATOR'S
1-800-659-2211. At least you'll get a neat catalog out of the deal.

I am new to this listserve so I hope I'm doing this correctly.
Axner's catalog lists the inserts you are wanting for drawer
knobs, although they are a bit pricey. I ordered some but I havne't got a
chance to test them out yet. The screws seem a little loose in the shafts
but I am hoping once there is tension on the system (installed) this won't
be a problem.
