I was able to go the the Strictly Functional Pottery Show today and wanted to
share with you all what a wonderful show it is. If you have the opportunity
to see it in person you should really try to go. If not you can always view

I had a great time in Pennsylvania this weekend. The opening
of the Strictly Functional Pottery National show Friday
night in Lancaster was fun. A lot of the artists showed up
for the opening. The website should have photos of the pots
soon: http://www.strictlyfunctionalpotterynational.net/ (but
they're not showing up yet).
Pete Pinnell was the juror for the show. Anyone near
Lancaster needs to go.
I stayed for the weekend workshop with Pete Pinnell. As
anyone who has met him knows, he is terrific. He demo'd
different teapots and a ewer--lots of tips on spouts, lids,
handles, etc.
Kevin Lehman has built a great studio--and a community of
potters and glass artists. I enjoyed meeting him and the
other local potters who rent spaces and the others who came
for the opening and/or the workshop.
