Hi all! I'm back on Clayart after moving from Yonkers to DC. So far,
the only thing that I miss about New York is that - oddly enough - I
lived in a place big enough to also house my studio. Now I'm in an
apartment in downtown Washington DC and am looking for studio space in
DC. Any ideas? Thanks - Jonathan Kirkendall

In response to Jonathan Kirdendall who recently moved to D. C.:
Lee Arts Center in Arlington (on metro line, or 20 minutes by car) has good
classes and a liberal open studio policy. You may speak with Mary Briggs
there. Also, George Brown at Pine Ridge Pottery in Alexandria (off Edsel
Rd, 20-25 minutes from car from D.C.) has studio space for rent, something
like 10x10 for $150, includes use of glazes, but must pay for firing. He
does have a Bailey kiln for gas firing for rent, along with several electric
kilns. Manassas Clay, about a 40 minutes drive from D.C., also rents
space. There is a networking group of potters called "the Clay Connection."
You can find out about them from Fran Newquist or actually anyone at
Manassas Clay or Pine Ridge Pottery.

J - Find Margaret Boozer at the Corcoran School. She may have some leads.
also in Alexandria, find a clay company which also has studio spaces.
