Does anyone know of summer workshops being held in the New England, USA area
that maybe have to do with sagger firing or the art of terra sig. or anything
along those lines? I do ^10 reduction with minimal raku and would love to
learn some different techniques to broaden my horizons. Ideally it would be
anywhere from 3-7 days with housing options.
I would truly appreciate it if you could E-mail me with any possible ideas!
Thanks for all of your vast knowledge!!

Two schools come to mind.. the Haystack School on Deer Isle and Watershed
located in Wiscasset ... both of course are in Maine... but where else
would you go to enjoy yourself in New England besides MAINE???....
(no I am not prejudiced in the least) Marshall

Jan,
There is now a homepage with information on "Experiencing The
Fire" workshop which is held here in Vermont. Participants bring their
own bisque pots and over 4 days fire, a Wood Fired Noburigama (salting
the second chamber), 3 Primative Salt Pit Firings (where sulfates are
fumed for color), 1 Saw Dust Firing, and a Day of Raku. Hence the name
Experiencing the Fire.
The orginal two sessions that were offered filled so fast that
two more were added this summer. These all can be seen on the homepage
listed below.
If this doesn't seem what your looking for drop me a line, I
know of some other places that are doing firing workshops this summer.
I will be away until April 25th so if you e-mail me, be patient,
I'll respond as soon as we get back. We're going to New Mexico to visit
some potter friends. Looking forward to seeing the sun.
