Dear Clayarters--
Thanks VERY much to all of you who have taken the time to write to me with
your suggestions on places to visit in the Washington, DC area. I started
out with the intention of replying to you all personally, but I will be
typing for days if I do that! So let me thank you as a group for your
invaluable insights.
Many of you were unanimous in recommending "not to be missed"
attractions--the Freer, the Renwick, the National Gallery and the African Art
Museum of the Smithsonian, the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria. These places
are among my top priorities. I am equally grateful for those of you who
mentioned less well known galleries, exhibits and resources. Also, thanks to
all of you who shared your strong personal feelings about your experiences
when visiting the city.
Your responses just make me awfully glad to have a computer and to be plugged
into a forum like Clayart!
