Can we make a distinction between flipping over and alternating from
side to side?
I use 12" X 24" X 1" kiln shelves from Thorley Refractories in one of our
24 cu. ft. Alpines. The shelves have posts on three points, on the
corners on one side and in the center on the opposite side. I alternate
from side to side from one firing to the next. This way, the point on
which the shelf comes in contact with the posts is not the same for
consecutive firings. I feel the shelf has a longer life this way. I've never
tried flipping them over.
