I have just received word that Tim Malm - a clay art regular - had a
serious stroke last night. For those of you that believe in prayer, his
wife has requested that you join her in praying for a good recovery. Tim
had lost speech capacity and was paralyzed on the left side of his body.
News is that as of this afternoon - he had regained some speech
capabilities and could move his left toe. Tests are just now beginning to
assess the extent of the damage.
Tim is a dedicated Professor at Seattle Pacific University, a superb clay
artist, President of the Washington Potters Association, a new father, and
a warm, caring person of deep integrity and commitment.
I join with his wife in prayer for a full recovery and ask that you would
do so as well.
Thank you.

I have just finished reading the September-October issue of the
Washington Potters Association newsletter with a message from its
President, Tim Malm. This is an organization of fine and entusiastic
potters and Tim is in his second year of leaderhship. I have read all
his messages and he has contributed immensely to the WPA. I wish him
and his family and friends well and hope he has a quick recovery and
is soon back to take the helm of WPA and begin again his work in clay.

I was sorry to read about a month ago that Tim had had a stroke. I had
the pleasure of meeting Tim when he was last over in the UK and I would
be grateful if anyone could e-mail me as to how he is getting on.

Tim is recovering very well - in typical Tim style - he is working hard
and is extremely determined. He is now at home participating in a program
called "rehabilitation without walls" where the therapists come to him. I
know that he enjoys being home alot more!
This week - he has been able to grasp and move his left arm - very
exciting! If you would like to send him a direct letter, let me know and
I will e-mail you his address, or I would be glad to print and deliver and
e-mail note.
Thanks for your concern - his presence is deeply missed here!
