I have a most fantastic opportunity to go to Japan and Taiwan in a couple
of weeks. I will be in Tokyo Nov 2-Nov 6 and Taipei Nov 6-Nov 9 or 10.
That is not a long time but it's the time I have to be there so I'm NOT
complaining! I do want to make the most of my time while I am there and
see as much pottery related things as I can.
I have found many postings in the archives but I thought some of you might
have even more current info for the two cities that you might share. If
so, feel free to contact me directly at this e-mail address or, of course,
a posting to the list.
Also, I'm interested in locating tools while I am there -- specifically,
glazing tongs. I have seen 2 kinds of tongs that I was told were
Japanese. The first is similar to the typical ones here except that they
are more slender and have a sharper point. The other kind is used for
plates, having a bar on one side that the foot of the pot rests on and a
single point on the other side. Does anyone know where I might find these
in Tokyo? Any suggestions for tools in Taipei?
THANKS from a lurker!!
