My understanding is that there is a show of Ruth McKinley's work
at the Burlington Art Center (?) in Burlington Ontario thru
Sept. For details or clues as to where to find them, I plan to
call Prime Gallery in Toronto. If Burlington is as close to
Toronto as I hope, it would be an experience to see Ruth's
wonderful wood fired work.

Hi Diane:

The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery in Waterloo is a must see if you are in
this area. We are just 60 miles west of Toronto. I would be happy to go
with you. I have a studio just outside of Waterloo and would be happy to
give you a tour of that as well.

Hi All,
I am traveling to Toronto next week for a few days. Other than the
Gardnier Museum which has a teapot exhibition now which I am very excited to
see, are there any other galleries and/or potteries that I should visit? I
will have a car so I could drive a reasonable distance for something good! I
will also be spending one day near Niagara Falls(Canada side) before our
journey home.
Thanks for the response,
Diane

Visit our friends Tony and Sheila (Sour Cherry Pottery)- they're on the way
to Niagara from Torona -eh!
That's the first one that popped into my head anyway.

Diane: While in Toronto- The ROM- Royal Ontario Museum is across the street
from the Gardiner. Prime Gallery, Art on King, Harbourfront, and go to the
Gooderman and Worts project and see the Sandra Ainsley Glass Gallery with
the Guilhooly(sp) exhibit (awesome).
On your way to Niagara go to the Burlington Arts Center in Burlington (it's
mandate is clay) and then come and see us. We're a minute off the QEW- your
route to Niagara. Directions on our website.
We just unloaded a woodfiring today. Some sweetie pies.
We'll direct you to good wineries, restaurants and things to do on the
Niagara Peninsula.
You'll love Tee Oh. It's a fantastic city!
Cheers,
Tony

I heartily second the ROM -- a fantastic collection of medieval and
Renaissance pottery and European decorative arts, as well as modern art
pottery and pottery giants like Lucie Rie. All kinds of ceramics from
China, Greece, Rome / Roman Britain, Italy...

Please come and see us at Amazing Clayworks in Stratford if you have time.
We have a couple of dozen potters' work and a huge studio. Stratford is a
great city to visit, too. We're about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Toronto. Call
us for directions if you like. 519-273-7887.

Hi,
I would like to thank everyone who sent me info about Toronto and =
the surrounding area. I am also apologizing for not being able to =
connect with some on this trip. We stayed in the city and my husband =
took the car on Monday and Tuesday to go to work. So I did city things =
which was fun. I went to the Gardiner Museum to see the teapot exhibit. =
It was really great- if you get a chance GO!!!=20
On the way home on Wednesday we stopped to visit with Tony Clennell. =
Also a must if you are in the area. Tony and his wife make fabulous =
pots. Great Shino glaze. My husband who doesn't love to be drug around =
to Potteries really enjoyed the visit- both the pots and Tony. It was =
real nice to meet him-good guy. A good place to visit if you are in the =
area!
