Dear Veronica,
Here in Tacoma there is an urban wood kiln. It has a chamber at the
bottom of the chimney that has a forced air burner that is turned on prior
to the start of the firing so that red heat is achieved (1300-1500 Degrees
F). there is vertually no smoke from the stack.
You may need to build a chamber and for a large kiln put two-four froced
air burners on it to heat teh chamber and add enough air to fully burn the
carbon comming from the firing. I think the critical thing is to get
enough heat and oxygen to burn the smoke enough to satisfy the
enviornmental athorities.
