Would anybody have the recipe for the trailing glaze that one time used to
be on the ceramic gopher. I lost someones recipe for it and they want it
back right away. Thanks

Hi, I have a question about glaze. I sometimes like to trail glaze
from an ear syringe for decoration. Is there a way to thicken the glaze
for trailing? I usually dip my pots so I mix my glaze in 5 gallon
buckets to the consistency of cream. For trailing I'd like it a little
thicker so it will flow but not run.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Michele

I meant the CMC more as a glue to avoid peeling of while it is drying

Hi Michele
If you don't need a HUGE amount... I tried this a couple of times when I=
wanted to add blobs of glaze to a piece that had already been fired.
Take off as much water as poss from the top of the glaze bucket. Pour so=
me of the now-slightly-thicker glaze into a bisque fired bowl, or plaster=
mold - anything really absorbent. After a few seconds you have a lovely=
thick gungey consistency, almost too thick if you don't work fast enough=
! I found it was easier to do just a little at a time.
