Hello Group,

I'm doing tests on iron crystalline glazes and came upon a formula
that calls for the chemical Ultrox. Can someone tell me the use of
this chemical in the glaze and elaborate on its' composition. If
known please include a company that carries this.

Ultrox is a brand of Zirconium Silicate. I've used lots of brands:
Zircopax, opax, superpax, and even milled zircon, all with equal
success, although particle size may vary and be a factor in surface
texture of the glaze. Seattle Pottery carries it, but you should be
able to substitute any of the above with similar effects (opacifying) to
your glaze.
