I recently received a letter from Dennis Parks of Tuscarora Pottery School
asking for help in placing a young ceramist from Tashkent. Her name is Elena
G. and she wishes very much to find some sort of position in the US. As you
may know things are very tough there economically. She could not afford to
send photographs so she sent very nice drawings of her work. Her strong areas
seem to be in china painting and figurative modeling. I couldn't tell if the
vase forms she had painted on were her own or not. She would take just about
any kind of studio or teaching work she could get. Her English could get
better and probably would with practice. If any of you have ideas or
possibilities for her please let me know or write to Dennis Parks directly at
