visiting san francisco

I will be visiting San Francisco December 5, 6, and 7, and would like to see
the pottery sights! If you live in or are familiar with the area, please
let me know what to put on my "must see" list. I would prefer galleries or
exhibits as opposed to wandering into someone's workspace...
TIA

Rebecca:
San Francisco has tons of great galleries downtown, most of which are in
walking distance from each other. One that's worth the trip to Berkeley is
the Trax Gallery (510-526-0279), run by Sandy Simon and Bob Brady. Call
for hours. I would also make a point of checking out the Dorthy Weiss
Gallery (397-3611), which is in downtown SF. And, (though there's not a
lot of clay work in it), check out our beautiful new MOMA -- there's a
great Arneson self-portrait on the second floor. Those are my top three --
Other then that, pull out the yellow pages and explore!

Somehow my computer reguritated a whole slew of messages it the trash.
Lost and gone forever! There was someone asking about people to meet
and sites to visit in San Francisco, Napa and Sanoma. If that
Clayarter will contact me directly, I will provide some contacts.

I'm driving down to the San Francisco area March 23-27th and would like
to visit fellow potters, fun out of the way art galleries, etc. Does
anyone have any ideas?

If you have time to visit Berkeley I have a couple of recommendations:

To visit a wonderful potter, call:

Gary Holt
Holt Ceramics
1449 5th Street
Berkeley, CA
(510) 527-4183

and for a gallery I highly recommend that you visit:

Trax Gallery
1306 3rd Street
Berkeley, CA

Have a great trip!
