fortunately, a friend gave me an old sheet of soapstone 24" x 36". it sits
on top of a cheap used office table and is a great place to wedge and
reclaim clay. i do not know where my friend salvaged it.
however, i visit a local monument company to buy some of their rubble
(beautiful polished marble and granite pieces) for mounting special tiles.
maybe they would have pieces big enough and cheap enough to serve as wedging
surfaces.
