Piano wire is available in many difference diameters or gauges from
McMaster Carr Supply in Chicago.
BTW, I have used plaster as a wedging table surface for as long as I can
remember. In fact, I also use the same arrangement for my classes. When
given the proper information about how to use the surface and what can and
cannot be used on a plaster surface, this material is quite
indestructable. But I think that from the get go, fear of plaster is what
really should be the issue, and the second issue is its proper proportions
for mix, by using a volume/mix calculator.
BTW, again, I am thinking of hosting a plaster and mold workshop this
summer at my plant here in Colorado. I am wondering in there is any
interest from the list.
