One of the most informative technical-type talks that I went to at NCECA was
Nils Lou's presentation on kiln coatings, and, in particular, his experience
to date with ITC. Some others on the list have also used the ITC 100 coating
product on the inside of their kilns and on the elements in their electric
kilns, too.
At Nils' talk, he said to coat the kiln furniture, too. There was also some
discussion at that point about the need for supplementary kiln washes. I
recall he said he didn't use any.
Have any of you used this prodict, and if so, have you used it on the
furniture (both sides of the shelves, for example), and do you use any
additional kiln washes or other methods to catch glaze drips? If so, what
has your experience been.
As hard as I try to keep a neat kiln, it seems there are always some glaze
goobers somewhere on the shelves after a firing.
Thanks in advance for any information!
