Hello everyone,
I have no vested interest in this, but as people always seem to be looking
for used ceramic equipment, I thought I'd pass it on. I was out at SUNY
Brockport (western NY) yesterday to do some work, and learned that they are
about to offer three of their old kickwheels for sale. They have two of the
original Soldner kickwheels and one Randall. The price I heard from Bill
Stewart was $200 each. If interested, you could call him at 716-395-2313.
BTW, they had a number of the new "silenced" Brents, and boy are they quiet...

ps. On this talent thing--when I was learning to throw on an old Brent
kickwheel, I actually "missed" while kicking and went over backwards off the
wheel entirely. Should I have taken that as a message that I wasn't meant
to be in clay, and gotten on with my culinary career?? Fortunately I have a
hard head, and am extremely stubborn. A few words from the world's slowest
clay student...
