who has tried ceramic coating by itc?

I fire large plates on the top shelf of my electric kiln and have recently
noticed rough spots on the glazed surface. I think, much to my distress,
that the inside lid of my kiln is shedding tiny bits of soft brick during the
firing. Has anyone tried the ceramic coating product put out by a FL firm
called International Technical Ceramics, Inc.? Our pottery club recently
heard a report by a potter at the Lee Art Center in VA about the kilns which
had been successfully coated with this product at that Center. But I'm
interested in someone who has used this product over time. Are any
disgusting fumes released during firing; does the initial coating hold up
over time - etc.

Thanks to one and all. Physclay

I coated my little electric Paragon with ITC about 4 years ago. It's
wonderful stuff, fabulous really! Dramatically reduced the heat loss,
dramatically. It's good stuff, really.
Not related, employed, or involved with ITC in any way, shape, or form.

I bought it from ITC. They used to advertise in Ceramics Monthly. I know
that Axner is carrying it now.

I use it for kiln repair. It works great! It's a bit pricey but holds up.
