This is a semi-clay question regarding windchimes. What should be applied to
the copper pipes to give them that aged green look? Some kind of acid? Any
suggestions? And, by the way, it's been suggested to me to use Spider Fish
Line (sold at Walmart) for stringing. Kind of expensive compared to other
fish line but approx $6.00 for 150 yds. isn't too bad.

Hi Lynn,
Use any monofilament fishline. Patina the copper with dilute nitric
acid or Ferric Chloride while it's hot. DON"T BREATH THE FUMES!!
Cheers,
Paul

Paul,
Where would one obtain the ferric cholride or nitric acid for the
patination of the copper?
TIA, Karen

Karen,
Check in your yellow pages wherever you are and look under Chemicals.
Pretty easy to come by.
