Greetings,
I tried sending this yesterday but it appears to have not gone through
so i'm sending again, in the hopes that it won't appear twice,
apologies in advance if it does....

I hope someone out there can help me... i am looking for these discs to
attach to a plastic bat and use on the wheel for smoothing bottoms of
pieces after glazing. (Have only found the 12" one site, MUDINMIND.com and
i cannot proceed to their checkout with a Canadian state and postal code
for some reason...Arrrrgh...)

I can't get them anywhere here that i have tried, (Home Depot, hardware
store) ... i have found a supplier here in QC, but i'd have to buy their 5"
discs in boxes of 100 for each grit i need ..($28 for 100 pads, need 120
and 240 grits so $56 +shipping.... ka-ching!!)They supply marble and
granite installers and sculptors.

They tell me they ARE NOT for a wet application (maybe because of the
adhesive), so i'm wondering if they're even the right product...

If someone could help me out, tell me where they found some and what the
name of the company is or something that would help me find these in my area
i would be very grateful for the help :)

Thanx!
Anne, in Saint-Sauveur where the new kiln lid is on and the kiln is firing
bisque in preparation for a glaze-fest later on in the week...
OOHH-oooh! The trip to Syracuse was great... really nice meeting Don and
Shawn at Clayscapes, in person, and then the next day the EVERSON museum,
the ceramic arts!! I spent almost the whole day down there... So much to
look at and experience... I definitely recommend it to those who are
passing through Syracuse... Just to see first-hand some of the works of
people i've been hearing about for so long, it was amazing, and what can i
say about the scarab-vase and other works by Mme Robineau... breathtaking
stuff...

Hi Anne,

I'm looking at the catalog of an abrasives supplier called "Supergrit".
They have waterproof Silicon Carbide disks with PSA backing in the grits
you want and a variety of diameters. They're sold in packs of 10.

Here's the web address: http://www.supergrit com

Hi Anne,

The discs are made by (or more probably for) Creative Industries Pottery
Wheels and Ceramic Arts Accessories http://www.creativewheels.com/ so if
your pottery supplier has a traveller who carries CI products, they could
consider stocking these discs.

They are available through several US pottery suppliers, but the cost of
shipping to Canada (by vendors which are set up to do this) may be
prohibitive. Think $35 USD per order in addition to the USD price of the
discs.)

Good luck!

Helen
