Making Pots From Parts
A Pottery Workshop with Blair Meerfeld
June 9-10 2007 Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm -?
This workshop with world renown potter Blair Meerfeld will focus on
throwing pots and parts and combining the elements to create unique
and dynamic pots. Blair will demonstrate throwing and building his
beautiful teapots, lidded jars, bowls, mugs and more with stylistic
assembly of different parts. Attention to detail, lines, and form
with his deeply philosophical outlook on pots and the potters
lifestyle combined with Blair's kind and giving personality make this
a workshop not to be missed.
Blair meerfeld had been a studio potter in rural colorado since 1988.
Most of Blairs work is sold from his gallary next to his studio in
the San Luis Valley ranching community of Saguache, Colorado. Blair
is consided a whos who of salt fired ceramics and is a featured
artist in Phil Rodgers "Salt Fired Ceramics". He has graced the
cover of ceramics monthly ( feb 2000) and recently had a wonderful
article written about him in Clay TImes (jan/Feb 2007). Blair's work
has been shown extensively around North America and Europe.
There will be a potluck on Saturday and Sunday, those who would like
to participate may sign up upon enrollment
