As a new subscriber to Clayart, I'm anxious to connect with others challenged
with the frustrations (and joys) of woodfiring porcelain. My present problem;--
I'm limited to an eight hour firing, (cone 9), and get good flashing and blush
on about one-half of my ware in the high ash and reduction areas of my kiln.
Can anyone suggest a flashing slip, or a slip using my porcelain body and ? to
increase my odds? I've tried a strong wash of woodash water and gum which does
help, but I still get unmelted ash grit on some of the unglazed porcelain areas.
