Our summer workshops are filling up fast, but inexplicably, two of the very
best workshops still have plenty of room. We have two of the finest
American potters offering five-day workshops, Sarah Jaeger from June 11
through15, and Jane Shellenbarger from July 16 through 20.
Sarah Jaeger is a full-time studio potter in Helena, Montana, and one of the
most respected contemporary American studio potters. You can see one of her
teapots at http://www.archiebray.org/residents/jaeger/index.html and another
one at http://www.strictlyfunctionalpotterynational.net/images/04sfpn51.jpg
or an extraordinary tureen set at
http://www.artworksmontana.com/pages/Jaeger-Web/pages/152-SJ.htm - Jaeger is
known for her inventive and masterful use of glazes and resists.
Jane Shellenbarger joined the ceramics faculty at Kansas City Art Institute
in 2002, and is one of the leaders in contemporary thrown-and-altered
functional pottery, especially pouring vessels and covered vessels. You'll
find a series of clickable thumbnail images leading to larger images of her
work at http://www.kcai.edu/gallery/?a=135
These two potters are both innovative and dynamic teachers. If you want to
learn new direction and/or expand and re-energize your current direction, I
strongly recommend that you take one or both of these workshops. The Craft
Center is one of the finest clay studio workshop facilities in the US, the
setting is beautiful, the lake is perfect for swimming, and the housing and
food are excellent.
Go to our website at
http://www.tntech.edu/craftcenter/wkshops/summer/welcome.html for full
information about workshop registration, housing, etc. Email our workshop
coordinator Gail Gentry at ggentry@tntech.edu if you have questions about
the workshops. Email me if you questions about the ceramics facilities.
Don't miss this opportunity!

I sent this in yesterday, but it never appeared on Clayart, so here it is
again.
