Mesa Community College (MCC) in Mesa, Arizona is offering a 3-credit college
course in the village of Mata Ortiz, Mexico. The course will take place during
five complete days of intensive instruction in hand-forming native pottery,
from May 18th through the 23rd. It will be taught by the local potters, who
will cover all the techniques they use to create and decorate their work.
Methods of digging and processing the clay will also be covered.

David Bradley, an accomplished ceramic artist and instructor at MCC, will
assist the students throughout the week, and a translator will be provided
because the Mata Ortiz potters do not speak English.

Participants will stay in a small bed-and-breakfast. The workshop fees will
cover the cost of room and board, as well as insurance.
