Scott Meyer, with the assistance of friends, students and other interested
parties, will be firing the Fat Bastard Anagama kiln May 22 - 26, 2007.

This will be the tenth firing of this fearsome beast and the Communications
Department @ Montevallo will be offering a free web-cast.

Fun Facts:

-=93Fat Bastard=94 was built by Meyer with his students at the University of=

Montevallo.

-Finished Spring =9202, this is its 10th firing.

-Peter Callas fired its maiden voyage.

-The Fat Bastard consumes between 12 and 14 cords of wood in the 100 hour
firing.

-Artists with Meyer who have fired work in the kiln include: Peter Callas,
Scott Bennett, Chris Greenman, Rick Hirsch, Gunnar Kaldewey, Janet
Mansfield, Larry Manning, Richard Notkin and Tony Wright.

Kiln philosophy: Respect the tradition. Push the boundaries.
