Okay, Peter, don't spoil the ending, see if I care... but did you
have to spoil the beginning?

The title is "A Crafty Family" and the URL is:

Regards,
Maurice, in windy Fairfax, California, where all hell has been
breaking loose in our cherry tree... the Black-headed Grosbeaks and
Robins are having a ball and making a mess under the tree. Still
neater than the raccoon who trashed many branches trying to get to
the sweet red ones before the birdies got there.

And where our home is a bit emptier since our son, Osa, took off for
Japan to teach English for a year or four. Yeah, yeah, the upside is
that we'll HAVE TO visit him there, but gone are the phone call
check-ins to yak about the Giants, Cal, his latest "associates."
Huh? I have no idea if that's common usage for 26-year-olds to refer
to what I used to call dates, but there it is. Now I'll have to
learn how to say associate in Japanese. Or maybe Korean.

Off to finish glazing for my load of cone 6 reduction pots going off
on Tuesday or Wednesday...

Hi Terrance,

Thank you for the link to this clip. I had the good fortune to meet Michael at a workshop in Galesteo NM in 1979. I believe ha was 80 at that time. It was one of the highligts of my 35 yrs of making pots. He was an amazing man and I am sorry for those who never got the chance to meet him.

Thank you,

John

I started exploring the website and found another interesting clip.
It was called " A Family Craft" , filmed in 1975 it seems folks back
then had the same issues that we in the 2000's have. If you sit
through the whole thing the craft store owner at the end is very
interesting with his theories on the threats to craft. I won't spoil
the ending you'll just have to watch it your self.

Terrance this is stupendous stuff.

Thanks so much for the link, Terrance. He is one of my all time
favorite potters, but I have not had the opportunity to see many
videos with him. Him and both Davis are heros to me.

And I am just digging him beating out the inside of that bowl before
centering and throwing. Way cool.
