where downstairs is a very good selection of prestigious domestic studio =

For the Victoria and Albert Museum, contact them ahead of time. I was there
last August and was very disappointed that the ceramics floor was closed.
It's the second time that has happened to me at the V&A. If you contact them
ahead of time the staff will arrange to take you through part of the
collection for a private viewing even though it's not open to the public,
but give them advance notice. I tried to book while I was there August 2006;
the first private viewing they could arrange was in mid February 2007.
The Contemporary Gallery (#7 Marshall Street, right in the middle of the
Carnaby Street) is a must! A block or so down the road there is also a very
talented silversmith with wonderful jewelry- great stuff!
Have a great trip,
Barbara

When I was there last July, you could only book privately on one day a
month. I arrived after the day. I did see my teacher's work in
the Asian section and his teacher's work too.

Several years ago I bought the most beautiful little teapot by Maria
Stewart at Cecilia Colman Gallery in St. John's Wood. Near Abbey
Road studio and the famous zebra crossing, so you and your friends
can pose a la Beatles while you're there!

5 min walk from Jubilee line station St Johns Wood.

She has quite a few potters in her gallery.
