shinos and la-la land

Dawn: Mostly known for being a Member of the
Travelling Wood Fire Brigade I do mostly make a living
from gas fired shino and I have a long list of do's
and don't that I can share. Firstly the white colour.
I maintain that the soda ash in the glaze travels off
into la-la land. If I glaze a pot in Carbon trap shino
and leave it hanging around in the studio for a couple
of days like you did- no carbon trap! I get no carbon
which I hate.
You got a wee blush where the shino was covered with
plastic which had prevented the soda ash going to
la-la land. We also put the glaze thru the 80 mesh
screen before using it. This is just superstition but
something we do.
We glaze and load in the same day and candle
overnight.
May the dark side be with you.
Best,
Tony
