I recently read the slow cool article concerning an iron glaze in the recent
Ceramic Monthly. Went from holding at 1950 f to holding at 1650 f (one
hour) for my Cone 6 glazes. I did soak at 2150 for an hour also. Dropped
from 2150 to 1650 f without any holds. Really got some nice results. More
depth of layered glazes. Glazes that usually are shiny gloss were more of a
smooth satiny gloss. Every piece turned out. No pinholes.
Like this cooling cycle which is fairly easy with my old manual Skutt.
