shino lessons and kiln question

My thanks to all who responded to my shino and firing questions. It
seems that I didn't reduce enough. This was only my second gas
firing and I am learning the burners. Too much air I think, and I
also applied the glaze too thick. I also learned the importance of
checking specific gravity. Thanks again for your help and when I get
those killer shinos I'll let yall know.

Dear Dawn;

It seems you are planning to reduce the primary air at the burner. I
might suggest an alternative which may produce more even reduction.
close the damper somewhat tighter instead, which will have the effect
of reducing the air, while increasing turbulence inside the chamber.
