For Sale- 1 Creative Industries, Clay Boss Potters Wheel, model from the late 90's.
Hello everyone,
I am selling my Creative Industries Clay Boss wheel to invest in a Leach style treadle wheel for when
I go off the grid.
I purchased this Clay Boss back in 2001 from a wood sculptor friend of mine. He only used it a few
dozen times as have I. This wheel has low hours on it and has never been used in a public teaching
facility. I have an old dinosaur electric wheel that I love and use on a regular basis in my own private
studio.
This Clay Boss has a 14" rubberized wheel head with 2 bat pins holes. The wheel head spins in one
direction, counter clockwise, for right handed throwers. It comes with 2 bat pins and the splash pan.
Upon investigating current models I see that the splash pan has 2 parts, one to secure around the
wheel head to keep slurry off your legs and the end cap. It did not come with the end cap when I
purchased it. That was never an issue for me and I use a lot of water when I throw.
I believe that the motor is 1/2 horsepower and can handle 50 pounds of clay if not more. I know it
can handle 25 pounds with comfort and ease because I have tried it once. The foot petal is smooth
and there is minimal wear on this wheel.
