Can anybody shed any light on the formula of
a Xue Bai glaze.
We have just had a very interesting
exhibition here in Singapore of the work of
Canadian potters entitled White on White.
I was fascinated with the whole exhibition
but particularly the Xue Bai glaze which I
would describe as a very fine "dried mud",
white glaze. The control that the potter
seemed to have over the glaze was
intriguing.
Is this a traditional Chinese glaze or a
more contemporary adaption of an old glaze?
I would be grateful for any
information...and particularly a formula.
