Well, I got the word on the Yakishime
(high fired unglazed stoneware)exhibit
that will take place in Okayama next
January.
Pieces have to be submitted to the
judges on November 6th or 7th-
that means anyone sending a piece
from overseas will have to arrange with
the shipping company to deliver on one
of those days between 10a.m.-4p.m.
The limits on weight and size are as
follows: weight-100 kilos
width- 1 meter
diameter- 1 meter
height- 1.5 meters
I have arranged for some applications to be sent
to me- if anyone would like one(I'd be happy to help
you fill it out-just don't forget the sushi dinner
if you come out smiling)e-mail me your address.
Judges include curators from the Nagoya Boston Museum,
Fukushima Prefectural Museum, as well as one Living
National Treasure(Yu Fujiwara- who I personally dislike-
he was awarded such a title more out of connections
than talent), and two professors from well-known art
universities.
Anyway, let me know.
