Dear Clayart-ers,

If anyone knows of places to see pottery in either PEI or Nova Scotia i
would really appreciate the suggestions as we're heading out there in a
few weeks and i've never been before.

Also, lucky me, if we can find a campground (fingers crossed) we're going
to try for a week on the Cape in August to end the season and i'm sure
there are some potters works to see out there as well, :)... we'll be
passing through Boston on the way home so anything there to suggest, fire
away!!

Thanx a million in advance for any and all help!

Anne, in Saint-Sauveur, where the smell of the couscous simmering away in
the crockpot is heavenly on this grey day...

Dear Anne,

There are lots of potters down this way! Do you have the NS tourist
publication Doers and Dreamers? That will tell you everything and more
about NS, what to see, where to stay etc etc and there is also another
smaller publication detailing all the arts and crafts things, with
addresses, times of openings and so on. Actually they have a ton of very
good tourist literature and will send it free of charge. If you are here in
August our group are having some raku firings with Carol Smeraldo (she is
mentioned in the latest pottery book of Canada) and you would be more than
welcome to join us, (in the woods beside a lake).

You can contact me directly if that is easier. (The coucous sounds good, it
is grey here too and rather wet and cool, and the Atlantic fog is rolling
in, but should roll out in a few days I hope).

I am attaching the Cape Breton Artisan Map which has some potters on it.
I am on it for my Fine Art Paper Collages as I am just getting the
pottery studio up and running. Cape Breton is known at Nova Scotia's
Masterpiece, especially the world famous Cabot Trail!

Will you enter Nova Scotia via the Cat from Bar Harbor? There are
fantastic potters at that end of the province, one of my favorite,
Pentz, her pots are amazing, I will forward more info if you wish.

Raining for the past week, except one sunny day....
